昔の人に比べて出産が少ない現代の女性は更年期の対応が凄く大変なことがよくわかりました。自分の心身を上手にコントロールする方法を学びました。そして、レクチャーと共に参加者同士の懇談会でしっかり意見交換をできたのでただ話を聞くだけでなく、更に深く勉強できました！レクチャーの中で特にお気に入りの場面は「日本人女性が自分のお話しをすることが苦手なのはキティちゃんに口がないから！」です。お話しすることでお互い助け合いの場が広がっていくので大切だと改めて認識しました。常盤先生、楽しい会をありがとうございました。次回を楽しみにしています。

I attended a lecture and discussion session by Dr. Makoto Tokiwa, hosted by E.53 wellness.I learned that modern women, who have fewer children than people in the past, have a very hard time dealing with menopause. And I learned how to control my mind and body well. In addition to the lecture, we had a discussion with other participants, so I was able to exchange opinions and learn more deeply than just listening! I laughed to myself the whole time when I heard, “Japanese women are not good at talking about themselves because Hello Kitty has no mouth!” I realized once again that talking is important because it expands the opportunities for mutual help. Thank you, Dr. Tokiwa. I’m looking forward to the next time.

小さな一歩からやってみる
EDSの患者さんとの体操では、力を入れたいところに力がしっかり入っているのか、別の場所で無理に頑張っていないかを確認しながら行います。まずはコアを鍛えるために力を籠める練習を行います。
1．仰向けで膝を立てる。
2.腰が反らないようにタオルをお尻の下に敷いたり、おなかに力が入りやすいようにサポートする。
3.力を込めた状態で１分３０秒間行う。出来るようになったら毎日１０秒づつ増やしてみる。
4.毎日行って３分続けられるようになったら一つ目のゴールです。
コアを鍛えたいのに首や肩で緊張していたり、呼吸を止めていたりするかもしれません。
必要な箇所の筋肉を 収縮する練習は体の感覚の勉強でもあります。EDSの患者さんと一緒に練習する時には無理な姿勢でやっていないかなど細心の注意を持って行っています。どこを意識して鍛えたらいいか分からない方はまずこの小さな一歩を毎日続けてみましょう。
When exercising with EDS patients, we check whether they are engaging the intended muscles and whether they are compensating with other areas. First, we practice activating the core to strengthen it.
1.Lie on your back with your knees bent.
2.Place a towel under your sacrum to prevent your lower back from arching, and engage your core to help maintain stability.
3.Hold the position with tension for 1min 30seconds. Once you get used to it, try increasing the duration by 10 seconds each day.
4.Practice this daily, and once you can maintain it for three minutes, you’ve reached your first goal.
Even if you want to train your core, you may be tensing your neck and shoulders or holding your breath. Practicing how to contract the muscles in the necessary areas is also a way to develop body awareness. When working with EDS patients, we are very careful to ensure they are not in awkward positions. If you’re unsure which areas to focus on during training, start by taking this small step every day.
